Thanks P & G

I would like to thank P&G for ONE of my packages that I received from the Life well Lived  at Blogher 11

Dr. Scholl’s Fast Flat

Women know that we have a love -hate relationship with our heels. They make such a fashion statement with the price to pay later for sore feet.  When I say, I was so happy to received a pair of the Dr. Scholl’s fast flat shoes for the long nights I had ahead of me during the Blogher 11 convention.  These shoes were the perfect back-up shoes a heel-wearing woman can ask for.

These are the most comfortable shoes that are foldable and fit nice and neat in my clutch(they even came with a stylish wristlet).  I wouldn’t advise anyone to wear them outdoors, due to having a thin-soled and they are not waterproof.

If you are looking for something to walk around in to relieve your tired and sore feet, these are the shoes for you!! They beat walking around barefoot or wearing socks.

Pros: Convenient, Fairly inexpensive, great for emergencies, small and easy to pack

Cons: not waterproof, thin sole

My Journey to IVF

I know it has been a while since I gave my last report about my Journey to IVF.  Well since the last time I had my retrieval which was on a Wednesday, September 14,2011.  They were able to retrieve 14 eggs from me that day.  The following day I received a call from the embryologist to stated that 8 eggs didn’t make but 6 of them were exceeding great.  Well, they had me on the 5-day blastocyst transfer, September 19, 2011.  When speaking with the doctor before the transfer took place, I was advised that the eggs that they were using were graded 5aa and 5ab(great).  She was very skeptical about transferring two because I am high risk of having twins, yeah twins!!!  At this moment, I am on the nerve rack train which you cal the two-week wait….. I find out my news on Oct 3 if I will be expecting, so wish me all the baby dust!!!

By the way, I was able to have 3 eggs frozen.  My hubby and I decided if this round work out great for us we will be donating the eggs to a less fortunate person who wants to share the same experience as us!

My IVF Journey

okay, so my BIG DAY was 09-12-11…..I was given my HCG shot(trigger shot).  I am schedule to take my shot at 9:00pm after leaving the doctor’s office today.  My visit went so great , I am smiling so big that it hurt.  I was advised that I have several follicle ranging from 16-22mm.  My estrogen level is great.  I have my retrieval schedule for Wednesday at 8:00 am. I am a lil nervous but nothing I can’t get over. Wish me luck everyone!!!!

My Journey to IVF

Well, I went in on Friday to find out that they are going to push me one day back for retrieval.  My follicle are growing good.  They were between 10-15mm.  They ask that I return back on a sunday.  On Sunday I was up at 19mm. I am so ready to move forward but I want things to be right at the same time.  Going back in a Monday to get update and an okay to trigger that night.

My road to IVF

Had a visit with the doctor on September 7, 2011 to make sure that I was producing enough follicle.  I had plenty of small ones and one large one.  So right now I am waiting for the doctor to call me to up my meds now.  I have  to return back to the clinic on September 9 to make sure that I have enough mature follicle to proceed with my retrieval date of September 13. If I don’t have enough mature follicle, my retrieval date will be pushed back to the original date of September 20.  So everyone hope things go great Friday!!!!

Journey to my IVF…..

Okay, another visit to the doctor’s office on September 2, 2011.  Well good news, I progress to my stims.  I am now taking an additional shot, Bravelle and Menopur. I must admit this one stings, but nothing I can’t handle.  My overall visit was great.  I had plenty more blood work to do and another ultrasound that showed everything to be going just great.  Not much went on  with this visit but a overall good one!

Oh yeah by the way my retrieval date has been move up a week…..September 13,2011…..Yeah!!!

I will keep everyone posted on my updates!

My Ole School

Ok, so I have an ole school car that my hubby bought me a couple of months ago. Its a 75 Chevy Caprice Convertible.  It has a factory v8 engine with a 350ci.  It has a 350 transmission with hydra-matic. It has a 1977-79 Corvette Aluminum Intake Manifold 4BBL.The tires that my husband put on my car are some 24′s.  I drive the car every blue moon.  I have some minor things that need to be done over like a paint job(keeping the same color)and replacing the top on the car.  So far my husband put in 8 kicker 12′s and 12 6×9 speakers, even though I keep the radio at the minimum.(don’t like the loud music thing).  I had plenty people to offer me money for my car, but right now I am not ready to give it up.  I have a little more fun to play with before I give it up. This is going to be my show car…..

Part 3 of My Journey to IVF

Well, I went in on August 26 to have some test ran.  Once into the office I had more blood work that was needed as well as my husband.  Then from the lab went into the exam room to have a ultrasound on my  stomach.  I was then given a  uterine imaging (hysterosalpingogram or HSG, hysteroscopy, hysterosonogram). These tests are done to detect anything that might interfere with the success of an IVF cycle or eliminate you as a candidate for standard IVF. Findings include fibroids, endometriosis, tumors, infectious disease, hormone levels and other potential problems. After that procedure and hearing that every thing looks perfect the doctor then did a practice transfer to see where he was going to plant the eggs(right side).  This was a great visit overall because I am now doing my lupron shots and if everything is great by September 2 my transfer will be push a week ahead…..Yeah! So everyone pray that things are great and I will be doing my transfer by September 13 instead of the 20. Either way I will hope to be a happy new mother again by the end of September……

Once all these tests have been completed and the results examined, my partner and I meet with the physician and nurse. At this time, the details of the treatment plan was explained and scheduled, and any questions and concerns that we had been addressed. We then was asked to sign all necessary consent forms.

Love Being A Mother

Love Being A Mother
My whole life, I have wanted to be a mother. I know many people struggle with the decision to become a mother but that was always my desire.  After all these years of being a mother,  I enjoy every moment of motherhood with my sons. I raise my kids as a single mom until I met Ej, my now husband. As a single mother, I was all bout my kids making sure that they had everything that a kid could possibly need(notice I said need and not want).  I love that I have no guilt about not spending “enough time” with him or “too much time” with the kids. I grew a bond with my kids where if they need to talk with me about anything they weren’t afraid to do so.  I learn all my qualities of motherhood from my very own mother herself.  I never in counter a woman who was so strong and well minded when it came to her children.  I was raised in a family of 7, 6 girl and 1 boy(poor him) with me being the baby.  It is such a blessing to have such a big family especially when everyone get along great…It is only us keeping this family together with the help of prayers and the Lord due to us losing our mother and father years ago.

I just wanted to shared this little story after sitting back and watching how many brothers and sisters, family overall, fall out about the little things in life.  Well, I was in my feeling and wanted to express that….;)
